Every Day is a Roller Coaster

Tonight while putting the kids down, seconds ago...I had Trent in a state of relaxation and Rissa snuggling in right next to us. This over sized, craigslist find of a chair from Ikea is getting it's worth in I tell ya. Anyway, the kids were so sweet, I mean, 'baby commercial' sweet.

Rissa reached for Trent and gave him an adoring hug and kiss. Then Trent reached his left hand out to her and giggled with this angelic grin. Perfection.

I stood up with Trent and asked Rissa to get ready to brush her teeth. She ran out and grabbed the door knob. I laid Trent in his crib and walked towards the door, motioning Rissa to move so I could close it. She wouldn't budge so I closed the door with her oh-so-helpful-not-in-the-way-at-all assistance. And then it began...

Tears because I wouldn't let her do it by herself, within 30 seconds Trent chimed in. Uhhmmmm, not cool guys.

30 minutes later, Mommy wins (for the next 5 hours or so until someone wakes up).

Every day is a roller coaster...they drive me bonkers but I sure do LOVE these crazy kids.

...because I helped her close a door.
